2021 Summer Property Maintenance Reminder

Now that the warm weather has arrived and everything is growing, please remember to groom your lawn on a regular basis. At a minimum please mow the lawn and keep the weeds under control. Additionally, owners who rent their homes are ultimately responsible for this maintenance if the renter neglects the yard.

Please pay special attention to the following items:

  • Mold or mildew on the siding of your home

  • Fences that are in need of repair (missing/broken slats, leaning fences, etc.)

  • Mailboxes that are in need of repair or refresh

  • Removal of trash or other similar items that are visible from the road

  • Parking in the yard/beside paved driveway or in the street

Please ensure that all maintenance items have been resolved by May 31, 2021.

The HOA Board will send one warning letter to an owner (unless you have been warned before in which case you may be fined with the warning letter ) who appears to be neglecting their yard.

The appearance of our properties impacts the value of our homes and whether you or your neighbor decides to sell a home this year, we all benefit from strong home values.

Thank You,
Misty Glen HOA Board

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us via email or phone.

Announcement

Hi Neighbors! There have been a couple of changes to the board since the Annual Meeting so we wanted to cover those before you made it to the February meeting minuets.

Erin Chudd has decided to step down as Treasurer. She will remain Neighborhood Watch Committee Lead. While we are saddened by the decision we understand are in full support. We thank her for time as Treasurer and look forward to having her continue to serve as Neighborhood Watch Committee Lead. Thank you Erin!

Thank You Neighbors! You're the Best!

Through the generous donations of our community we raised $570 for Mr. Marion and his family!

Neighbors, the Board is humbled by your generosity and sense of community. There are not proper words to express how much we appreciate your kindness. Mr. Marion asked that the Board pass along his thanks to each and every one of you. We could not have done this without you!

The Board will be working with Mr. Marion over the coming months to assist with the restoration of the home. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to the Board.

The Board enjoyed visiting the neighborhood and it seems some of you enjoyed the visit. Beginning soon, we will be walking the neighborhood in phases to make sure that we are regular visitors and get to know each of you better. We’ve realized that being able to put faces to names is going to be another step towards making Misty Glen the best community around. We’ll have more information about this soon.

In Remembrance

It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of Celestine Marion. We send our thoughts and prayers to her family.

The Board will be walking the neighborhood to collect donations for the family, no donation is to small. If you want to donate and are not available when we are walking the neighborhood please contact us via email at: info@mistyglenhoa.org so that we may arrange a time to meet.

In light of this event, the board has recognized that there are some things that we would like to do better for our community. If you are interested in helping us please do not hesitate to contact us. We strive to be more than just a HOA, we are working to build a community. The more neighbors that are involved the stronger our community will be.

The Kindness Rock Project

The Board wanted to recognize the efforts of one our neighbors to make our community a great place to live. They created a rock garden of kindness. The rules are simple: take a rock if it means something to you, leave one and join in spreading kindness, and/or give one to a friend in need of some inspiration. Swing by 17 Oak Stand Court to grab a rock or leave one of your own! Our neighbor asked you to share a picture of the rock that you leave or take on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/girlscoutsinirmo/

Thank you for helping make Misty Glen a rock solid community!

Here are some other pictures and info about the project. We encourage others to take part in the project and spread some kindness around our community.
